My SCAMFT membership is important to my professional life and me for many different reasons. First, my membership gives me access to other professionals for consultations, referrals, and advice on different types of therapies, models, and new discoveries made in the field. My membership also gives me the opportunity to market myself through therapistlocator.com on the website for free. My SCAMFT membership keeps me updated on all the upcoming conferences with world-renowned therapists while also offering discounted pricing on hotel accommodation’s where the conference is being held.

One of the biggest reasons my SCAMFT membership is so important to me is because SCAMFT rallies and supports the integrity of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists. If it weren’t for professional organizations like AAMFT and SCAMFT, the marriage and family therapy field would not be as well-recognized or as well-respected among insurance panels, the mental health field, or medical professionals. SCAMFT also provides legal support in case it is ever needed. Because I know SCAMFT is constantly advocating for marriage and family therapists in general, and will be there to advocate for me specifically should I need it, I will continue to support SCAMFT through membership and by letting others know all that it offers.
